Privacy policy

The short version
MyTurn makes board games about real people, so we keep as little as we can. Your games and any photos live in your own browser. We don't have accounts yet, we don't sell data, and we don't run ads or ad trackers.
What we collect, and where it goes
- The words you type to make a game (occasion, player names, places, inside jokes, tone, look, title). Your browser sends them once to our server, which writes the game and sends it back. We don't save them on the server. If we turn on our AI writer, these words are also sent to Anthropic to write the cards; Anthropic processes them under its commercial terms and doesn't train on them.
- Player photos (optional). They are shrunk to a small thumbnail in your browser and never leave your device. They are not uploaded to us, and they are never included in a gift link. You must confirm that everyone pictured agreed before you can add one.
- Your games are stored in your browser's local storage. A gift link carries the game's words (no photos) inside the link itself, so anyone you send it to can open it. Treat it like a private photo link.
- Server logs. Our host (Render) keeps standard request logs (IP address, time, page) for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention, including rate limiting. The page address is part of the request, and a gift link's address contains the game's words, so opening a gift link puts those words in the log too.
What we don't do
No public gallery, no selling or sharing data for advertising, no third-party ad or analytics cookies, no profiling.
Paid orders (when checkout opens)
Payments will be handled by Stripe, and boxed copies printed and shipped by our print partner, who will receive the game files and your shipping address only. We'll update this policy, with the date, before checkout opens.
Your rights
You can download everything MyTurn keeps (Settings, then Download my data) and delete it all (Settings, then Delete my data). California (CCPA) and EU/UK (GDPR) residents have rights to access, correct, delete and port their data and to object to processing. Because your data lives on your own device, you can exercise these directly, and you can also write to us.
Children
MyTurn is for adults making gifts. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
